Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday expressed concern that Indian youth are increasingly drifting away from traditional values and blindly adopting Western lifestyles. He made these remarks while attending a cultural programme organised by his wife, Latha Rajinikanth.
Speaking at the event, Rajinikanth noted that not just the younger generation but even some elders are failing to recognise and appreciate the richness of Indian heritage. He lauded Latha’s efforts in promoting awareness about India’s cultural legacy and hoped that her initiative would succeed with divine blessings.
“In this age dominated by mobile phones and fast-paced lifestyles, many people, especially the youth, are unaware of the country’s glorious traditions. Without understanding the greatness of Indian culture, they are turning towards Western practices,” Rajinikanth said. He urged society not to forget its roots.
The actor further pointed out that even foreigners, unable to find peace and happiness in their own cultures, are increasingly looking towards India for spiritual solace. “They are finding mental peace through practices like yoga and meditation,” he added.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Rajinikanth is currently working on Coolie, an action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Set against the backdrop of gold smuggling, the film features Akkineni Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan in prominent roles. The film is scheduled for release on August 14.
