While the arrangements for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to capital Amaravati have reached the final stage and the state government is making grand arrangements, the missing of deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s name in the invitation card created political uproar. As a result, the government was forced to revise the same and bring out revised invitations including his name.
In the original invitation only names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu were given. As the coalition government has been following a tradition to include Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s name and photo also in every invitation of the official functions of the government, this has created uproar.
The Jana Sainiks have expressed their anger over the absence of Pawan Kalyan’s name in the invitation letter for this huge event. As a result, the government has changed the invitation and new invitations are being distributed with Pawan Kalyan’s name added.
Prime Minister Modi is going to lay the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the capital of Amaravati on May 2. The farmers of Amaravati are being invited by the Jana Sainiks. However, the fact that only the names of Prime Minister Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu are in this invitation letter has become a controversy.
Jana Sainiks have protested why Pawan’s name is not there. Postings have appeared on social media saying that this is belittling Pawan. Jana Sainiks have reminded us that Pawan has been supporting Amaravati since the beginning. Jana Sainiks have demanded that government decisions should be made to respect Pawan, who is playing a key role in the government and also alliance.
With this, the government has decided to put an end for this controversy while the Amaravati celebration is being held with great prestige. The invitation for the capital Amaravati printed by the state government has changed. The state government has once again printed invitation cards including the name of Pawan Kalyan.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is seen maintaining distance with Amaravati activities these days. Only Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Municipal Administration Dr Narayana are seen in the forefront in all decisions. Particularly, it is said that Pawan Kalyan was not consulted when the government announced its intention to acquire 44,000 acres more land for expansion of the capital city.
It may be recalled, in the beginning Pawan Kalyan had opposed the idea of acquiring more than 30,000 acres for the capital and insisted that this should be confined to main administrative buildings and should not make it into a real estate venture.
