In view of severe rash during summer vacations, the TTD has decided not to honour recommendation letters in Tirumala for break darshans from May 1 and such letters will not be allowed till July 15. During this period, the TTD has clarified that recommendation letters of public representatives and TTD board members are not valid for break darshans.
TTD has revealed that break darshans will be available only for protocol VIPs. TTD has clarified that recommendation letters have been canceled to give more priority to common devotees. Meanwhile, the TTD has made changes in the timings of VIP break darshans in Tirumala from May 1.

On the other hand, the rush of devotees to visit Tirumala Srivari has increased significantly in the backdrop of summer holidays and weekends. Traffic on the Srivari Mettu route came to a standstill early Saturday morning with devotees who came for Sarva Darshan tokens. Parents who came with children were shaken.
Devotees queueing for SSD tokens faced difficulties due to heatwaves. The condition of mothers in the queue with month-old children is beyond description. It is taking 18 hours for devotees without tokens to visit Tirumala. Devotees are waiting in 31 compartments to have darshan of Srinivasa.
On Saturday, 82,811 devotees visited the Lord, while 34,913 offered talaneelalu. On Saturday, the income from Srivari Hundi was Rs. 3.24 crore. On the other hand, the police are on high alert in Tirumala.
Following tension prevailed on the borders after the Pahalgam terror strike, the police have been carrying out checks on the orders of intelligence agencies, said SP Harsh Vardhan. Checks are being carried out at bus stands, hotels, and monasteries with bomb and dog squads. Vehicles are being checked at several places on the ghat roads.
