Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that the police department will not sleep until the killers of TDP leader and former MP Veeraiah Chowdhury, who was murdered in Ongole on Tuesday, are caught. He assured that the details of those who provide information will be kept confidential. His body was taken to his hometown Ammanabrolu in Naguluppalapadu mandal of Prakasam district for the last rites. Chief Minister Chandrababu reached there and paid tribute to Veeraiah Chowdhury’s body on Wednesday. He visited their family members and gave them courage.
The CM assured the family that he would stand by them. He deplored that the manner of the murder was very heinous and expressed his concern that even hardened criminals would not do this. He said that there were 53 stab wounds on Veeraiah Chowdhury’s body. It seems that there are such terrible people in the state.
Chandrababu reminded that Veeraiah Chowdhury participated in the Nara Lokesh Yuvagalam program for 100 days. He supported the Amaravati farmers’ march. He explained that 12 teams have been formed to search for the accused and the murder case is being investigated from all angles. Did the murder take place by locals? Was it hired goons?
The Chief Minister appreciated that Veeraiah was a capable leader and had rendered many services to the party. Chandrababu said that he could not digest such a heinous act. He made it clear that there is no place for violence in his government’s rule.
He said that the reasons for Veeraiah Chowdhury’s murder are being investigated. Was it personal enmity? Financial affairs? He said that they are also investigating the issues. He explained that they are also investigating whether he did it because he could not tolerate political growth.
Later, Chandrababu participated in the funeral of Veeraiah Chowdhury. The CM was accompanied by Ministers Anitha, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, and several MLAs.
