Renowned playback singer and reality show judge Sunitha has issued a strong response to the allegations made by emerging singer Pravasti. In a detailed statement, Sunitha categorically denied the accusations and expressed disappointment over Pravasti’s remarks.
Sunitha criticized Pravasti for personalizing the issue, stating that it would be more appropriate to present a complete and balanced perspective to the public. “It is important to communicate the full context to the audience,” she said.
Reflecting on her interactions with Pravasti during her childhood, Sunitha said, “I used to affectionately hug Pravasti when she was a child. At this age, such gestures may not be appropriate, and I understand that.” She added that judges and mentors often get emotionally involved during performances and that it is a natural part of the process.
Sunitha questioned Pravasti’s understanding of competitive formats, saying, “You have participated in several competitions. Don’t you know how the process works?”
Addressing the technical constraints of music reality shows, Sunitha clarified, “TV channels have certain limitations. Only songs with the required broadcast rights can be performed. Contestants are not free to sing any song of their choice. It would be helpful if you explained this to the audience — that would genuinely make me happy.”
Expressing her dissatisfaction over Pravasti’s public statements, Sunitha concluded by saying she was disappointed that the singer had reached a point where she was making such allegations.
