Khushboo Patani, sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani and a former Army officer, rescued an abandoned infant found alone in a dilapidated house in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The child was later reunited with her parents following prompt police action.
Currently working as a fitness trainer and residing in Bareilly, Khushboo was out on a morning walk on Sunday when she heard an infant’s cries coming from a nearby derelict building. With no accessible entry, she climbed onto a neighbouring structure to enter the premises, where she discovered a baby girl covered in dust and lying unattended.
Khushboo immediately brought the child home, fed her milk, and provided basic care. She later shared the incident on social media, criticising the negligence of the parents and appealing to the public for help in identifying the child. She tagged official accounts, including Bareilly Police, UP Police, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing hope that the child would be given proper care under child protection laws.
Following her complaint, local police transported the infant — who had minor facial injuries — to the district hospital for medical attention. Authorities confirmed that the child, identified as Radha, has since been reunited with her parents.
Khushboo thanked the police for their swift response in a follow-up post and expressed emotional attachment to the child, saying she already missed her. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the abandonment and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
