Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that this month the theme for Swachh Andhra day chosen is ‘Collecting e-waste and recycling it in safe ways’. He revealed that a circular economy will be possible by creating wealth from garbage. He said that as part of the Swarnandhra-2047 Sankalpa, the Swachh Andhra program is being celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
The Chief Minister said that each program is being organized on a different theme every month to make it inspiring. He asked state-level officials, district collectors, public representatives, ministers, MLAs, NGOs, corporate organizations, students and youth to participate voluntarily in this Swachh Andhra program.
He suggested that e-waste collection centers be set up everywhere. He said that SHG members in rural and urban areas should be identified and their services should be utilized for their management. He called for the slogan of e-waste collection centers to be ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’.
Chief Minister Chandrababu said that he hopes that everyone will become a partner in the program that will make the Swachh Andhra program a success and thus take the Golden Andhra Sankalpa further forward.
Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana revealed that the Swachh Andhra Swachh Divas program has been organized for the last 6 months. He said that this program is organized regularly on the 3rd Saturday of every month with a different theme. The Minister gave directions regarding the organization of the Swachh Andhra Swachh Divas program.
Principal Secretary of the Municipal Department Suresh Kumar, Swachh Andhra MD Anil Kumar Reddy and Commissioners of all municipalities attended the teleconference.
It was suggested that the Swachh Andhra Swachh Divas program be organized on Saturday with the theme of e-check. He ordered that electronic waste in shops and homes be collected completely. The Minister instructed that this program be successfully organized in all areas along with the MLAs.
