CM Chandrababu Urged 16th Finance Commission Additional central Assistance To AP

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has appealed to the 16th Finance Commission to provide additional assistance from the Center in view of the challenges faced due to the economic devastation in the last 5 years and to make proposals for allocations from the Center.

The CM met with the members of the Finance Commission at the Secretariat and asked them to look at the state specifically and provide financial assistance so as to give a boost to the Swarnandhra 2047 plan.

The Chief Minister said that 72 out of the 93 central schemes that were stalled during the previous government’s tenure have been restarted. Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu himself welcomed the 16th Finance Commission Chairman and Members at the Secretariat. He explained the photo exhibition on the progress of the state to the representatives of the Finance Commission.

He gave a video presentation explaining the state government’s ideas on issues such as the construction of the capital Amaravati, the Polavaram project, and the Polavaram- Banakacharla linkage project. The Finance Commission praised the WhatsApp governance brought by the state government. It seems that 16th Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya inquired whether the Prime Minister was informed about this.

The CM explained the government’s goals, Swarnandhra Vision 2047, infrastructure projects, investment opportunities and policies to the Finance Commission. He once again explained the financial difficulties faced by the state after the bifurcation and the subsequent developments.

He asked the Center to provide additional assistance in view of the challenges faced due to the economic devastation that occurred in the last 5 years.  He said that if you help and sustain it today… AP will be key in the successes achieved by the country tomorrow.

Then the CM explained the state’s financial situation, how the state has deteriorated in the last five years of rule, and how the 16th Commission should help the state. Along with CM Chandrababu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Minister Dr P. Narayana, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and Minister Nara Lokesh also participated in this meeting.
