BRS Working President and former minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) accused the BJP leadership of protecting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. With the support of the BJP only, he alleged that Revanth Reddy is emerging as the most powerful Chief Minister in the country.
He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had been accused of collecting RR (Revanth, Rahul) Tax in Telangana. But why is Modi’s government not taking action, he asked. He strongly disputed Congress allegations that BRS is keeping away from Hyderabad local bodies MLC election for the sake of BJP candidate. He asserted that they are not contesting as they do not have sufficient numbers.
KTR said that they will have their own policy on contesting in the elections. He lamented that the central government for breaking the people’s hearts by increasing the price of LPG. He wondered why Union Minister Bandi Sanjay is worried about the HCU lands row? KTR alleged that Bandi Sanjay is a protective shield for Revanth Reddy.
He questioned whether the central government could not have stopped the sale of HCU lands if it wanted to? He warned people that if we trust national parties, Telangana will sink. He said that KCR is going to give the same message to the people through the Warangal public meeting, scheduled to be held later this month to mark the silver jubilee of BRS.
He said that KCR is the one who introduced fine rice in hostels and Gurukuls. He said that the concept of fine rice is nothing new. Former Minister KTR said that if local body elections are held, the support for the Congress will be known.
He wondered why retired IAS Adityanath Das, who had argued on behalf of AP on the issue of water allocation, was appointed as Telangana advisor? He accused that Adityanath Das was appointed because Chandrababu said so.
KTR wondered why the state government appointed a person who fought against Telangana? He criticized that the Congress government has failed to resolve the water issues between the two Telugu states. He accused the Congress of committing wanton water theft in the Godavari and Krishna rivers after coming to power. He accused the Congress of harassing farmers due to their hatred towards KCR.
