Former Gannavaram MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested on a PT warrant and produced in the Gannavaram court by the Athkur police on Tuesday. The court, which conducted the investigation, remanded him till April 1. Later, he was shifted to Vijayawada jail.
It is known that Vamsi is currently a remand prisoner in the Vijayawada district jail after being arrested in the Satya Vardhan kidnapping case. Meanwhile, he was arrested in another case by Athkur police. A land belonging to a Muslim woman in the Atkur police station limits of Krishna district was illegally registered to two people as her sons.
A person named Sridhar complained to the Atkur police that he had entered into an agreement with the woman to purchase the land. To this extent, a case has been registered against Ramu, Vallabhaneni Vamsi and Ranga, another person. In this, Vamsi is A-2.
In this context, the Atkur police recently filed a PT warrant petition in the Gannavaram court. With the permission of the court, Vamsi was taken from the Vijayawada district jail on Tuesday and produced in the Gannavaram court. Vamsi requested the court to order the jail authorities to provide him with a mattress and a fiber chair, saying that he was given an iron bed in the district jail.
The judge stated that he could not give orders on the matter in the context of the hearing in the SC and ST special court on this issue. He suggested that it should be resolved in the relevant court. He explained that once the medical reports are received, an order will be made on the issue of providing a fiber chair based on them.
After the hearing, Vamsi was shifted to Vijayawada district jail. On the other hand, the CID police recently arrested him on a PT warrant in the Gannavaram TDP office attack case. The CID court recently extended the remand period in that case till March 28.
