Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan’s recent remarks at the Jayakeertanam Sabha have triggered widespread debate. His statement that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), with its four-decade-long history, was revived due to Jana Sena’s support has drawn sharp reactions. While TDP leaders have remained silent, party supporters have strongly objected on social media.
Reacting to these comments, Praja Shanti Party president KA Paul launched a sharp attack on Pawan Kalyan. “He claims to have made TDP victorious. Does anyone with sound judgment speak like this? TDP, founded by NT Rama Rao, has a solid voter base of 45%. Even I, despite holding multiple meetings in 2014, never claimed to have ensured TDP’s victory. If I had not campaigned for Chandrababu, Jagan would have become the Chief Minister,” Paul said.
Paul further criticized Pawan Kalyan’s assertion that he played a key role in the success of both the TDP and BJP. “Listening to his speech made me cringe. The Bible says that pride comes before destruction. Is this arrogance a sign of his downfall?” he remarked.
SVSN Varma Issue
KA Paul also addressed the issue of Pithapuram TDP in-charge SVSN Varma. “Pawan Kalyan did not even mention Varma’s name. Does he not realize how much Varma worked for his victory? He believed in Pawan’s leadership and refrained from contesting, helping him secure a margin of one lakh votes. And now, he is being ignored?” Paul questioned.
He accused Pawan Kalyan of contradicting his previous statements, stating that the Jana Sena leader lacks consistency. “He does not even seem to understand what he is saying,” Paul added.
Criticism on Sanatana Dharma and Past Statements
Paul also objected to Pawan Kalyan’s recent remarks on Sanatana Dharma, recalling that he had previously identified as an atheist. “How can he now speak about Sanatana Dharma? Earlier, he claimed his mother lit lamps while his father used those lamps to light cigarettes. Now he says his father chanted Rama Nama—which statement is true?” Paul questioned.
He further criticized the statement made by actor Chiranjeevi that Pawan Kalyan was born without causing labor pains. “A mother carries a child for nine months, enduring hardships. Making such claims is disrespectful. Similar narratives were circulated about Prime Minister Modi’s birth as well,” Paul remarked.
Flip-Flop on Hindi and Political Allegiances
Paul also criticized Pawan Kalyan’s changing stance on the Hindi language. “Earlier, he opposed Hindi imposition, and now he is advocating for it. Promoting Hindi over Telugu in the Telugu states is not acceptable,” he asserted.
He condemned comparisons between Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Nagababu with Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara, dismissing them as baseless. Labeling Pawan Kalyan a ‘package star,’ Paul accused him of frequently changing his stance.
Drawing a parallel, he likened Pawan Kalyan to a snake raised by TDP. “Now, that snake is turning against its own masters,” he remarked. He also claimed that if Jagan Mohan Reddy consulted him, he could resolve state issues within a week.
Call for Apology
Paul concluded by urging Pawan Kalyan to apologize for his misleading statements. “Jesus Christ forgives those who repent. Instead of making divisive remarks about Hindus, Muslims, and Christians, he should focus on responsible leadership,” Paul advised.
