Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT vs OG: Venkat Prabhu’s Comments Spark Debate

Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay hogged the limelight last year with his sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) directed by Venkat Prabhu. Though the film had received lukewarm reviews, it emerged a box office hit. To add spice, the producers dropped a hint at a sequel called GOAT vs OG in the climax, with fans eagerly looking forward to its creation.

Recently, at an awards ceremony, Venkat Prabhu was asked about the highly anticipated sequel. His answer, however, has created a buzz on social media with speculation. While some think that as Vijay is preparing for the 2026 elections, production of the sequel will be decided based on whether he decides to go back to acting after his political stint or not. While some are optimistic that he will make a comeback, others are skeptical.

Conversely, some part of the audience believes Venkat Prabhu’s comment was a joke, and the sequel would never be released. His words have set the tongues wagging, with several meanings doing the rounds on the internet.

To date, there is no word on whether GOAT vs OG will materialize after the elections. While that is pending, Vijay is busy with his 69th movie, Jana Nayagan, under the direction of H. Vinoth and starring Pooja Hegde as his leading lady. This one is reportedly Vijay’s last film before he goes all the way into politics, so it is one to look out for.
