Prime MInister Narendra Modi, who had earlier a decade ago laid foundation for capital Amaravati, will also inaugurate the resumption of the capital Amaravati works next month. The state government is preparing to start it with a bang next month. It is reported that the Prime Minister was invited and he agreed to it. The date is yet to be finalized.
This was personally announced by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come very soon to restart the capital works. It may be recalled that the foundation stone for the capital works was laid by Prime Minister Modi on Vijayadashami in October 2015.
At a time when the construction of the capital was going on rapidly, the Jaganmohan Reddy government, which came to power, sided with Amaravati and stopped the works wherever it was. It brought the proposal of three capitals to the fore and tried to suppress the Amaravati farmers’ movement with an iron fist.
Along with TDP and Jana Sena, BJP also stood by the Amaravati farmers’ movement. As soon as the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP alliance came to power in the state, it took steps to take the capital works to the next level. The Narendra Modi government at the center also fully supported the capital.
It was due to the center’s initiative that the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank sanctioned a loan of Rs. 15,000 crores for the construction of the capital at the fastest pace. HUDCO also gave in-principle approval to provide Rs. 11,000 crores.
Overcoming the obstacles created by the previous YSRCP government, the state government has finalized the tenders for the capital works in these 9 months. CRDA has approved 59 tenders for works worth Rs. 37,702 crores. All the work is going to start almost simultaneously.
Only on Tuesday, the CRDA has approved to finalize tenders worth Rs 40,000 crore to start work immediately. The state government has decided to organize this program in a grand manner under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
