Police Filed A petition seeking 10 More Days custody of Vallabhaneni Vamsi

The Vijayawada SC, ST Court, which heard the petition filed by the police to remand former MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamshi for 10 more days to investigate the matter, adjourned the hearing on Monday. The police filed a petition on the 5th of this month seeking his custody in the case of threatening complainant Satya Vardhan in the attack on the Gannavaram TDP office.

The police said that Vamsi did not cooperate in his three-day custody last week and he did not answer many questions and did not respond even when asked with evidence. The police appealed to the court that if Vamsi is given custody for another 10 days there is a possibility of obtaining crucial information regarding this case.

Earlier, the police had also asked for Vamsi to be given custody for 10 days, but the magistrate allowed custody for only three days. The police said that he did not know any question and avoided answering it, saying that he had forgotten. With this, they said that they would seek custody of Vamsi again.

They also told the court that despite repeatedly questioning Vamsi with evidence, CCTV footage, and other accused, they did not get proper information. Therefore, the petition said that Vamsi should be given custody for another 10 days.

In addition, the police have collected evidence that the entire kidnapping and threats of Satya Vardhan took place under the watchful eye of Vamsi, and that he was threatened on the orders of the former MLA. In this order, it was stated in the petition that if Vamsi is given custody again, all kinds of evidence can be collected.

On the other hand, a hearing was also held in the Court on Vamsi’s bail petition. Satyavardhan’s lawyer Gudapati Lakshmi Narayana requested the court for two days to file a counter. With this, the court adjourned the further hearing.

Meanwhile, the court heard a petition filed by Vamshi to change the barracks. Jail officials said that Vamshi could not be shifted to the barracks where other prisoners were staying. They told the court that the barracks could not be changed for security reasons. However, Vamshi requested a soft pillow and blanket. The jail authorities accepted that request.
