Vijayashanti, Addanki Dayakar, Shankar Naik Are Congress MLC candidates

The Congress party high command has announced PCC general secretary Addanki Dayakar, Nalgonda DCC president Ketawat Shankar Naik and former chairman of PCC campaign committee Vijayashanti are the candidates for MLC elections from MLAs quota.

As there was a huge competition in the Congress party for the MLA quota MLC posts, the PCC core committee and AICC have filtered and selected candidates from three social groups.

Although it was initially expected that there would be 4 MLC seats under the MLA quota, the ally CPI requested the PCC to give them a seat as part of the alliance, and after discussing this, the ally CPI was allocated a seat as part of the alliance.

AICC organizational general secretary KC Venugopal announced Addanki Dayakar from the SC community, Kethavath Shankar Nayak from the ST community and Vijayashanti from the BC community as candidates for the remaining three seats. Reddys applied to the PCC in large numbers for the BC, SC, ST and minority women sections, expecting MLC posts.

After examining the large number of applications received, the PCC core committee made a provision that candidates who had contested and lost in the past should not be given any MLC posts. The rules also state that those already holding other posts should not be given any MLC posts.

Due to this, a large number of leaders who applied were filtered. Jeevan Reddy, who belongs to the Reddy community and is currently an MLC, made great efforts but did not get any results. Similarly, party sources say that despite the publicity that Vem Narender Reddy, who is the Chief Minister’s advisor, could also be given the MLC post, he did not get a chance in the mobilization of social groups.

Party sources say that PCC campaign committee chairman Madhuyashki, Sampath Kumar, Siddeshwar, V Hanumantha Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav and others are on the list of those who tried for the MLC ticket.

It seems that the PCC core committee, which examined all the applications, has reported to the AICC only the names of leaders who complied with the predetermined procedures. It seems that CM Revanth Reddy has insisted on the long-awaited Addanki Dayakar. It is reported that when Shankar Naik was proposed by PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, core committee members CM Revanth and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy also supported him.

It seems that former state affairs in-charge Manikrao Thackeray insisted on giving the MLC post to Vijayashanti, who had campaigned in the last 2 assembly elections. It is reported that he was given the opportunity after he said that he had promised her in the past.
