Kishan Reddy Dismisses Congress Remarks on Constituency Reorganization

Union Minister Kishan Reddy refuted Congress leaders’ statements on the reorganization of constituencies, asserting that despite changes in Telangana’s population and vote share, the number of parliamentary seats would remain unchanged. He criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for making “irrelevant comments” on the issue. He also clarified that there is no imposition of the Hindi language and cautioned against spreading misinformation.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy stated that he had discussed the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He mentioned that a tripartite agreement on financing is pending and that he had urged Gadkari to expedite the project’s completion. He highlighted that the central government had completed 10 national highways in Telangana and announced that these roads would be inaugurated after the Parliament session, with Gadkari expected to attend the event.

Regarding the RRR’s northern section, he stated that the central government would bear 50% of the land acquisition cost, while the state government must complete land acquisition under flyovers to facilitate road construction. He noted that the lower section of the Amberpet flyover remains incomplete due to pending land acquisition in six locations. He also urged the state government to expedite land acquisition along the Jangaon-Duddeda route to ensure timely road completion. Additionally, he pointed out the ongoing construction of a Greenfield road between Venkatayapalli and Brahmanapalli on the Khammam-Vijayawada route.

Kishan Reddy further stated that the Congress does not need to advise the BJP on Telangana’s interests. He recalled that before coming to power, Revanth Reddy had made several promises, including written assurances, which remain unfulfilled. He alleged that the people of Telangana are now protesting against the Congress government.

On infrastructure development, he confirmed that the coach factory project is progressing at a rapid pace and that production is expected to commence next year.
