YSRCP supporter Boorugadda Anil Kumar has responded to the controversy over claims he obtained an extension of his bail using a forged medical certificate. In a recently published video statement, he forcefully denied the allegations and said that he did not go underground but is rather attending to his ill mother.
Anil Kumar blamed the ruling coalition for targeting him intentionally for the last four months. He clarified that he was given interim bail on February 14, and when he was on the verge of getting regular bail from the Anantapur court, false rumors were circulated stating that he had disappeared.
Clarifying further, he said that he was ill then, while his mother underwent surgery at Apollo Hospital, Chennai. He asserted that this medical condition was duly informed to the High Court. Further, he asserted that he surrendered to jail on February 28 and was released once again on March 3. Being the sole brother to five sisters, he asserted that his priority has always been to take care of his mother.
Responding to allegations of filing a fake medical certificate, Anil Kumar asked how he could have done that while he was in jail. He accused Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan of conspiring against him to ensure he did not get bail. Blaming them for any harm that could befall him, he stated that he released the video to stop the false rumors from being circulated.
Anil Kumar additionally asserted that the health of his mother has also improved after witnessing him. He appealed to the court to use a humanitarian disposition in hearing his case and negated the assertions of the coalition as a fabrication aimed at embarrassing him.
Upholding his innocence strongly, Anil Kumar expressed that the accusations leveled against him were unfounded. He accused Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Lokesh of being actively involved in opposing him and his family, making them the reason for whatever might happen to him.
In his final address, he again pledged his commitment to respecting the judiciary and that even though he was prepared for any challenge, he would never challenge the court. He requested the judiciary to drop the baseless charges against him and permit him to stay beside his mother.
