Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has criticized the Congress government in Telangana for claiming its credit after the Centre gave clearance for the airport in Mamnoor in Warangal. Stating that Telangana CM Revanth Reddy was in confusion, he reminded that the Airport Authority of India builds airports, but not the state governments.
He explained that the state government only acquires land. He asked him to explain that Telangana was a surplus state even when he came to power, but how did the same state become indebted today? He advised CM Revanth Reddy to tell the people the promises made and implement them.
Rammohan Naidu deplored that the BRS and Congress parties have made Telangana a state a deficit state. He made it clear that the Center is now fulfilling its commitment of providing air connectivity to Warangal. The Union Minister challenged CM Revanth Reddy to see how quickly land will be acquired for this purpose.
Rammohan Naidu also clarified on this occasion that they are ready to build new airports in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Ramagundam and Nizamabad. He said that his technical team will conduct a survey on the geographical feasibility of these areas.
The Center gave the green signal for the establishment of an airport in Mamnoor on Saturday, i.e. March 1. In this context, CM Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with high-level officials at his residence. On the other hand, a clash took place between Congress and BJP cadres at the airport site in Mamnoor.
Both the groups clashed, claiming that the glory of this airport belongs to them. In that order, BJP ranks tried to garland the portrait of Prime Minister Modi. At the same time, top Congress leaders reached Mamnoor Airport site with flexi banners bearing the portraits of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and raised loud slogans.
Congress party workers tried to anoint their portraits with milk. BJP workers blocked their attempt. In this context, a minor clash took place between the two groups. With this, the police intervened and pacified both groups. Congress party leaders in the state also reacted in a similar manner to the Union Minister.
