Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu is wondering that YSRCP MLA Chandrasekhar is talking about allocating Rs. 3,000 crores for Veligonda in the budget allocations. He asked is the MLA accepting the fact that Veligonda has not been completed, as claimed by YCP leadership?
Then, Nimmala demanded an answer on how former chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy dedicated the unfinished project to the nation? He said that if the father blew the conch shell, the son completed it, and how did he celebrate the unfinished project? He questioned how you, who are asking for allocations in the budget today, can write lies in your untruthful and corrupt newspaper that even though Veligonda is completed, there is no water supply?
The Irrigation Minister accused that there are no limits to their lies, but at least those who speak should have an immense memory, otherwise they will be insulted like Jagan.
He alleged that “In the YSRCP, from Jaganmohan Reddy to the lowest level leader, everyone is competing with each other in telling lies. This is clear from the words of the party’s MLA Chandrashekhar regarding the recent budget”.
“The MLA says that the Veligonda project needs Rs 3,000 crores. And I am asking Jaganmohan Reddy, if your MLA is asking for Rs 3,000 crores, then the project is not complete? How did you dedicate an incomplete project to the nation in the past?” he protested.
Nimmala was angry and asked if there was any shame in starting an incomplete project and dedicating it to the nation. He demanded a public apology to the people of Prakasam district from Jagan, who deceived the people by saying that the incomplete project was completed and dedicated to the nation.
Minister Nimmala said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is paying special attention to Veligonda. He said that the head regulator, tunnel lining, benching works, feeder canal wall works, and removal of the tunnel boring machine stuck in the tunnel will all be completed. He said that they will work with the aim of filling the Veligonda reservoir by July 2026 and providing water to the ayacut farmers.
