For the financial year 2025-26, Finance Minister Payyavula Kesav presented the annual budget of Rs 3.22 lakh crore in the assembly. After the formation of the government, the coalition government presented a full-fledged budget for the first time. The state budget crossed Rs 3 lakh crore for the first time. Due to the need to make more allocations for Super Six, manifesto promises and development works, it crossed Rs 3 lakh crore.
Revenue expenditure was 251162 crore, while the revenue deficit was 33185 crore. The fiscal deficit was 79926 crore. Capital expenditure was 40635 crore. In particular, the welfare sector was given priority in the 2025-26 financial year budget. A big focus was placed in the 2025-26 budget on the implementation of the promises in the manifesto, including Super Six.
Under Annadata Sukhibhava allocations were made to give Rs 20,000 to every farmer. Under the `Talliki Vandanam’ scheme, Rs. 15,000 will be given to each student studying in the family. This scheme will be applicable to students of classes 1-12.
During the budget presentation, Finance Minister Payyavula severely criticized the mistakes and negligence of the previous government. He compared the YSRCP government’s financial anarchy to a nuclear attack on Hiroshima.Minister Payyavula said this year itself, a health insurance scheme of Rs. 25 lakh will be implemented for each family, while continuing NTR’s medical service. Free electricity up to 200 units per month will be implemented for SC and ST families and free electricity for handloom weavers. The government will allocate 200 units of free electricity to those who rely on handloom looms. Also, free electricity up to 500 units will be provided to those who rely on power looms.
The budget mentioned that up to 200 units of free electricity will be provided to Nayi Brahmin salons. It has been decided to build 12 old age homes for the care of the elderly. Proposals have been received for the construction of more than 7 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government has given the green signal in the budget for the construction of 2 lakh houses through TIDCO.
For the construction of houses, an additional Rs. 50,000 will be allocated to SCs and an additional Rs. 50,000 to STs. It was announced in the budget that Rs. 75,000 will be given. The government has decided to increase the assistance provided to fishermen during the fishing ban period from Rs. 10 thousand to Rs. 20 thousand. Funds will be allocated under Deepam 2.0. The coalition government has also relaunched the Adarana scheme.
