Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government will launch the P-4 program from Ugadi to empower the poor in the state. The P-4 policy is being introduced to strengthen the poor financially. The state government is trying to provide more assistance to the poor through this program in addition to the schemes currently being provided to various communities.
In this regard, Chief Minister Chandrababu held a meeting with top officials at his Undavalli residence on Thursday on P-4, Family Empowerment – Benefit Management System. Speaking on the occasion, CM Chandrababu said that a poverty-free society is their goal.
He directed that the main purpose of the P-4 policy should be for wealthy families to stand in support of the families at the bottom of the society. He stressed the need for a constructive and stable policy for this. The officials explained to CM Chandrababu that the P-4 policy, which the state government has ambitiously planned, is being prepared to materialize by this Ugadi.
Initially, arrangements have been made to implement the P-4 scheme as a pilot project in 4 villages in the state and 5,869 families will benefit from this pilot project. Families eligible to benefit from the P-4 scheme are being identified through the GSWS database, household survey, and Gram Sabha verification.
Landowners with 2 acres of land or more than 5 acres of land, government employees, income tax payers, four-wheeler holders, those consuming more than 200 units of electricity, those with their own property in the municipal area, and families with high economic status have been excluded from this program.
With this, 40 lakh families in the state have been identified as eligible for P-4. The survey is being conducted in 10 districts in the state since February 20 under the first phase of the household survey. This will be completed by March 2.
Under the second phase, the household survey in the remaining 16 districts of the state will start from March 8 and be completed by March 18. The government is preparing plans to bring 5 lakh aspiring families under Samriddhi Bandhanam by August this year in this program, which will be launched by the Chief Minister on this Ugadi.
