Pawan Kalyan Prioritizes Protection of Sanatana Dharma Over Political Positions

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan stated that safeguarding Sanatana Dharma is more important to him than holding political positions. Speaking as the chief guest at an event in Hyderabad on Monday, he emphasized the need to educate people about rulers who upheld Sanatana Dharma, rather than only focusing on historical wars in textbooks.

“I recently visited the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, where the priests explained how the idol of the goddess was safeguarded during invasions. Hindu Dharma, which preaches equality among all religions, is often undermined by many. That deeply concerns me. I am not a rigid Hindu, but when my faith—one that promotes harmony among all religions—is attacked, I cannot stay silent. I don’t know whether speaking up will gain or lose votes, but what is the point of holding positions if we cannot protect the divine power that has given us existence?” he said.

Addressing religious and political dynamics, Pawan Kalyan remarked, “Whenever other religions face attacks, leaders step in to defend them. But when Hindu Dharma is under attack, no one speaks up, fearing electoral losses. This issue needs deeper discussion, and history should be examined thoroughly.”
