Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has advised the former chief minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy that it would be better for them mentally fix themselves that they will not get opposition status for these five years.
He condemned the behavior of the YSRCP leaders in the Assembly during the Governor’s speech as a despicable act. He said that opposition status is not something that can be asked for, but that it can be given if the people give it.
He reminded that even if it got one more seat than Jana Sena, opposition status would have come to the YSRCP. He advised the YSRCP to recognize that Jana Sena is the second largest party in the House.
He said that the Governor came to the House despite not being well and spoke about the government’s welfare schemes and programs. He expressed his anger that it is not right for YSRCP members to try to block his speech. He said that the YSRCP needs to behave in a dignified manner.
Pawan Kalyan said that if the YSRCP leaders come to the House, they will allocate the time they need based on the strength of that party. Although the Speaker asked him to come to invite the Governor in the morning, he said that he did not go as it was not right to break the protocol.
Pawan Kalyan argued that if Jagan wants opposition status according to the percentage of votes, it would be better for him to go to Germany. He made it clear that it is not possible to give them opposition status according to the rules of our country. He said that if they ruled the people in the past, they would not get opposition status now.
Pawan Kalyan stated that now the second largest party in the assembly is Jana Sena. He wondered how they expect that the YSRCP, which has only 11 seats, will get opposition status? Pawan Kalyan asked the YSRCP members to come to the house and raise public issues.
He reminded that the Speaker also gave great respect to the YSRCP members. He also advised the YSRCP MLAs to maintain modesty and should follow democratic values.
