Governor Abdul Nazeer’s Address At AP Assembly: Key Highlights

The session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly commenced on Monday morning, as Governor S. Abdul Nazeer gave an electrifying address to both the houses. He took a scathing attack at the former government for pushing the state into fiscal mess by virtue of overborrowing. Furthermore, he held the former government guilty of wasting the central funds and not maintaining any account for revenue from taxation, which intensified the economic crisis.

Pointing out the non-progress, the Governor said that important central schemes were overlooked, slowing down development and leading to major economic setbacks. But he assured that the present government is making all efforts to bring back the economy of the state and place Andhra Pradesh on the growth track again.

Referring to reformist Kandukuri Veeresalingam’s words, the Governor emphasized opportunities for people to unfold their potential. He reiterated the government’s focus on skill development and poverty reduction and aligning it with Viksit Bharat’s bigger vision of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a progressive state and an economic powerhouse in its own right.

As a big step towards social justice, the Governor revealed that the state government has submitted a bill of 33% reservation for BCs (Backward Classes) and has already introduced the same bill to the Central Government for their approval. The Governor also appreciated the influence of Anna Canteens, which have been distributing free meals among the needy since the past seven months so that no citizen should go without a meal.

The initiatives, like free distribution of LPG gas, provided various measures in women’s empowerment along with continuing efforts by the government in providing employment opportunities for women. There is also talk of technological progress made by Andhra Pradesh in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

Besides, the government is also persisting with improving infrastructure, such as low-cost housing, availability of clean drinking water, electricity, and road connectivity, to offer sustainable development to every section of society.

With a massive push towards economic resurgence, welfare initiatives, and technology upgradation, the government aims to redefine Andhra Pradesh’s future as a model state for development and progress.
