Ministers Nadendla, Anam Assure cash payment For Grain procurement within 24 Hours

Stating that the coalition government’s goal is to get more than the remunerative price for farmers’ produce, Ministers Nadendla Manohar and Anam Ramanarayana Reddyd assured that cash payments for grain procurement will be made within 24 hours. They warned that strict action will be taken if the price of more than five kg per bag is reduced.

The ministers inaugurated the grain purchase center in Sangam of Atmakur constituency, Nellore district and also inaugurated the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society building and godowns built at a cost of Rs. 20.50 lakh in Sangam mandal center.

Speaking on the occasion, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar said that grain purchases will start immediately. He said that the previous government’s dues of Rs. 361 crore have been paid to millers under the coalition government. He said that 33 lakh metric tons of grain were purchased during the Kharif season and Rs. 7,480 crore were deposited in 24 hours to 5.87 lakh farmers.

He lamented that the previous government had cheated and looted the farmers’ money worth Rs 32 crore in Nellore district alone. He said that Rs 10 crore had been paid to the millers in Nellore district. He also said that the previous government had collected the grain and paid the dues of Rs 1,674 crore to the farmers, and his government had paid those dues to the farmers.

Manohar said that the transportation and porter charges due by the previous government in Nellore district of Rs 1.40 crore would be deposited in the farmers’ accounts within two days. He said that this year, four lakh metric tons were purchased more than last year in relation to the purchase of grain and the money was paid within 24 hours.

Minister Anam said that the suffering of the farmers in the previous government was indescribable. He was angry that the YSRCP had named the projects completed under the Telugu Desam government. He recalled that farmers had to face many difficulties without food at the rice mills for four to five days to sell their paddy.

State TIDCO Chairman Vemulapati Ajay Kumar, State Wakf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, State Civil Supplies Corporation Director Vemireddy Pattabhirami Reddy, Joint Collector Karthik and others participated in this program.
