Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government is locked in defence after AP FiberNet Chairman GV Reddy makes `treason’ charges against its MD Dinesh Kumar, without consulting any key persons in the government. This has given strength to discontent prevailing among TDP cadres that several officials are still working with loyalty towards the previous YSRCP regime.
In a damage control move, the government has asked both chairman GV Reddy and MD Dinesh Kumar to personally provide a detailed and evidence-based explanation. The responsibility of informing the government about the facts about what is really happening was entrusted to Minister BC Janardhana Reddy.
The minister asked GV Reddy why he had accused MD Dinesh Kumar of treason directly in front of the media without consulting government officials. GV Reddy explained that Dinesh Kumar had not been cooperating with him for the past few months. He told the minister that there was evidence for everything he had said in front of the media.
GV Reddy reminded that during the previous government, jobs were given based on WhatsApp messages. GV Reddy complained to the MD that although there were no objections to dismissing 410 people who did not have actual appointment documents, they were being continued and paid their salaries for nine months after the coalition government came to power.
At the same time, GV Reddy also made his arguments on the issues of income tax and GST. GV Reddy brought to the attention of the minister that he had already expressed his argument to the government’s Chief Secretary Vijayanand and Infrastructure Secretary Yuvraj.
He made it clear that MD Dinesh Kumar should be transferred if Fibernet is to be financially strengthened. Minister Janardhana Reddy asked GV Reddy to provide a report with evidence on all these. Soon after, GV Reddy submitted a detailed report with evidence in his possession to the minister on Friday afternoon itself.
On Friday afternoon, Fibernet MD Dinesh Kumar also met Minister BC Janardhana Reddy at the Secretariat and I&I Secretary Yuvraj was also present. The minister directed Dinesh Kumar to provide a written explanation along with supporting evidence based documents.
