Minister Dola says No Intention To Dismiss village And ward secretaries

AP Village and Ward Secretariat Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneyaswamy said that there are misconceptions that some employees of village and ward secretariats will be dismissed, and assured that the government has no intention of dismissing them. He said that the government is making efforts to rationalize the employees and improve working conditions.

The minister and a team of GSWS officials held discussions with the village and ward secretariat employee unions on rationalization and employee issues at the Secretariat. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that it is necessary to reorganize the secretariats, provide direction to the employees, and change them in line with the developing technology in governance.

He said that after rationalization, the proper promotion system will also be facilitated for the employees. GSWS Secretary Bhaskar Katamaneni and Director Sivaprasad participated in the program. 39 unions participated in the discussions with the employees.

Later, AP Village and Ward Secretariat Employees Welfare Federation President and General Secretaries M Guruswamy and K Anuradha said that the problems of village and ward secretariat employees should be resolved immediately and each employee should be transferred to the parent department and a promotion channel should be announced.

Village and Ward Employees Federation President and Secretaries Sheikh Jani Pasha and Bathula Ankamarao said that the village and ward secretariat employees should be transferred to the junior assistant cadre. They said that they have requested the government to remove the word multipurpose and clarify what steps will be taken on the issue of rationalization.

AP Village Surveyors Association State President Madhubabu Burada said that they have requested that a promotion channel be created for village surveyors and technical pay be given. He said that the government should immediately declare probation and give a regular pay scale to those who are drawing a salary of Rs. 15,000 without passing the probation declaration exam.

APJAC Amaravati Chairman, Village and Ward Secretariat Employees Welfare Organization State President Velpula Arlayya, Jyoti said that they have requested the government to provide information on who falls under which category of multipurpose functionaries, technical and aspiration functionaries as mentioned in GO MS No. 1, Clause 3A given in the rationalization process.
