Mohan Babu Gets Anticipatory Bail From Supreme Court

Film actor, director and producer M. Mohan Babu got a big relief from  the Supreme Court. The Apex Court granted him anticipatory bail for him in the journalist attack case. The court that heard the matter on Thursday granted him anticipatory bail.  The case was heard by a bench of Justice Sudansh Dulia.

During the last hearing, the Supreme Court had directed the Telangana Police not to take any action against Mohan Babu. Meanwhile, Mohan Babu told the bench that he had publicly apologized for the journalist attack and was ready to pay compensation.

It is known that the Telangana High Court had dismissed the anticipatory bail petition filed by film actor Mohan Babu seeking anticipatory bail in the journalist attack case. With this, he approached the Supreme Court.

Following the clashes between Mohan Babu and his son Manchu Manoj, the Pahad Sharif police have registered a case of attempt to murder based on a complaint filed by journalist Ranjith, who alleged that Mohan Babu attacked him when he went to Mohan Babu’s house in Jalpally for news coverage.

The High Court, which heard the petition filed by Mohan Babu seeking anticipatory bail in this case, dismissed it. On December 10 last year, when the media accompanied Mohan Babu to his house on the request of Mohan Babu’s son Manchu Manoj, he snatched a microphone from a journalist and hit him on the head.

The journalist was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. Rachakonda police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Mohan Babu. During the arguments in the court regarding this case, the lawyer representing journalist Ranjith argued that Mohan Babu should not be granted anticipatory bail.

He said that the journalist was not only attacked but also strangled. Both sides filed affidavits to this effect. The bench, which recorded the arguments, dismissed Mohan Babu’s anticipatory bail petition and issued a final order. Since it is a criminal case, there is no possibility of appealing to the division bench. With this, Mohan Babu approached the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail.
