KTR Demand  Revanth Reddy For Re-survey of caste census

BRS Executive President KT Rama Rao lashed out at the caste census, saying it was completely flawed and unscientific, and demanded he conduct a re-survey. He accused the Congress government of portraying nearly 22 lakh people as non-existent by reducing the population by five and a half percent in the caste census.

KTR demanded that CM Revanth Reddy apologize to the BCs for this. KTR said that the Congress MLC had burnt the caste census as a scrap of paper. He attended a meeting at Telangana Bhavan for BC reservation. Former ministers, MLAs, MLCs and party workers participated in this meeting.

KTR demanded that a resurvey should be conducted on the caste census immediately and the figures should be calculated. He said that he would also take the initiative in the resurvey. He said that those who were accusing KCR and KTR of not participating in the caste census had initially said that only those who came forward voluntarily should participate.

KTR asked not to try to escape by doing injustice to BCs and warned that they will not leave the Congress party until justice is done to BCs. He said that the injustice done to BCs will be taken to the people on a large scale. He demanded that the government keep its word as stated in the BC declaration that it was 42 percent.

He said that they thought that they would provide legality to BC reservations. KTR asked that a bill be introduced in the Assembly providing 42 percent reservation to BCs. He reminded that more than 50 percent reservation was given to BCs in the past. Moreover, he recalled that the highest number of seats were allotted in the Assembly, MP and local body elections.

KTR was furious that Congress leaders are finding fault about the BC population numbers shown in the comprehensive survey conducted when KCR was the Chief Minister. He criticized the government for not allocating even 15 paise for the BC declaration even after a year of Congress coming to power.

KTR alleged that the government had not even allocated 50 paise for the BC declaration, saying that new corporations would be formed for the BC castes and that each corporation should be given a budget of Rs 50 crore.
