TDP cadre, who expected their government to target the YCP leaders, who were harsh towards them during the last five years of their government, are now disappointing the royal treatment several YCP leaders and their associates are getting from their leaders.
Days after row over Union Minister Ramamohan Naidu taking popular singer Mangli to Arasavalli Sun Temple on Ratha Saptami day, they were upset with the TDP parliamentary party leader Lavu Krishnadevaraya accompanying popular tollywood actor Nagarjuna’s family to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It may be recalled that Mangli is known as YCP- friendly singer singing several songs for the party, but refused for a song for TDP as it contains the name of present chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. It has created stir within the TDP and Ramamohan Naidu was gently warned by the party leadership.
Within days of this incident, Narasaraopet MP Lavu Krishnadevaraya recently took the family of hero Nagarjuna to Prime Minister Modi. More particularly, former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad was also with them. He had enjoyed several official positions in both the YS Rajasekhar Reddy and later YS Jaganmohan Reddy governments and he had bitter relations with the top TDP leadership.
Nagarjuna is known for his close relations with YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy and also BRS Executive President KT Rama Rao. He used to meet Jagan repeatedly when Jagan was the CM and even before that when he was in jail. There is a debate about why a TDP MP would take such a person along with his family to Prime Minister Modi.
TDP workers are posting posts on social media expressing their deep anger and agitations over this. They seem to be shocked at how hard-core YCP people are being patronized by the TDP leaders. It remains to be seen how the TDP leadership reacts to this.
Already TDP activists are expressing their dissent over several key officials, known for their proximity towards former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, are getting crucial positions in the present government and managing any harsh actions against irregularities of the previous regime.
