CBI Accelerates Investigation in Tirupati
The CBI has further stepped up its probe, with Joint Director Viresh Prabhu leading the efforts from Tirupati. The investigating team has found a well-organized network involved in ghee adulteration, which was allegedly supplied for preparing prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. The accused are set to appear before the Tirupati court, while authorities anticipate further arrests in the coming days.
Unmasking the Ghee Scam: Who’s Involved?
This latest development debunks claims that no adulteration took place at the temple. According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), a large-scale syndicate was involved in tampering with ghee supplies. The ongoing probe aims to track the financial trail and identify those who benefited from the scam. Reports indicate that YV Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy have played significant roles in the matter.
Tenders, Fraud, and the Adulteration Process
Investigators have discovered that the companies that secured ghee supply tenders for the temple lacked the required production capacity. Instead of supplying pure ghee, they allegedly adulterated it before delivering it for use in the sacred Tirumala laddus. The SIT is preparing to submit its findings to the Supreme Court soon.
Political Firestorm After Chandrababu Naidu’s Revelations
The ghee adulteration controversy took center stage in Andhra Pradesh politics after TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu exposed the scam. While YSRCP leaders initially dismissed the allegations, these recent arrests have validated the claims, proving the existence of a fraudulent network. With investigations still underway, authorities are closing in on the masterminds behind the operation.
