Case Filed Against Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna Over Remarks at BC Sabha

Hyderabad: A case has been registered against Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen, popularly known as Teenmaar Mallanna, at Alwal Police Station. According to Inspector Rahul Dev, the case was filed based on a complaint by local leaders, alleging that Mallanna made objectionable remarks against upper castes during the BC Sabha held in Warangal on February 4.

In addition to the police case, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Disciplinary Committee has issued a show-cause notice to Mallanna, seeking an explanation for his statements at the event. The notice was served on Thursday.

The controversy follows the recent presentation of the BC caste census survey report in the Assembly by the Revanth Reddy-led government. Mallanna had openly criticized his own party’s administration, alleging that the survey underreported the BC population. His remarks have triggered political backlash, with opposition parties raising concerns over the issue.

The TPCC has sought a formal clarification from the MLC regarding his statements, adding to the ongoing internal tensions within the party.
