Multimodel Metro station proposed At Pandit Nehru Bus stand

The metro officials have decided to develop the main metro station in the Bezawada Metro Rail project to facilitate multimodal transport. An international company will be entrusted with its design responsibilities to meet international standards.

Corridor-2 from Penamaluru Center via Bandaru Road near PNBS, from Gannavaram via NH-16 to Ramavarappadu via Eluru Road to the railway station, Corridor-1 coming to PNBS, as well as Corridor-3 from PNBS to Lingayapalem in Amaravati in the future, and Corridor-4 from Jakkampudi to PNBS will also be connected near Pandit Nehru Bus Station.

Keeping all these in mind, the APMRC officials are planning to build a multimodal metro station near PNBS and are planning to create a plan so that passengers can reach the metro station as well as RTC buses and regular trains. In addition to the vacant land belonging to the RTC in front of PNBS, there is also a railway land next to the railway tracks.

The officials are of the opinion that an elevated multimodal metro station should be set up using all this. This will allow those who get off the metro trains to reach PNBS directly as well as the railway station. Similarly, those who come to the railway station and bus stands can also travel in metro trains.

A policy decision has already been taken regarding this multimodal station. Designs will be started soon in this regard. It has been decided to set up a coach depot for metro trains in Kesarapalli. It seems that 40 acres of land will be acquired in Kesarapalli for this purpose.

Metro trains will go to Gannavaram from the Kesarapalli coach depot and return to Vijayawada from there. Permission has also been given for land acquisition of a total of 100 acres to take forward the Metro Rail project in Vijayawada. Land will be acquired near the stations decided by May as per the previously proposed alignment.

AP Metro Rail Corporation officials have prepared estimates for a double-decker flyover from Nidamanuru Junction to Ramavarappadu Ring Road at a cost of Rs. 1,000 crore and sent proposals to the R&B (NH) department.
