Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed her anger that YCP leaders are insulting the victim’s family by forgetting that they are women. She deplored that YCP leaders spread a false propaganda that if a man beats a girl, it is gang rape. The accused in the girl’s issue in Srikakulam district was arrested within 24 hours in Srikakulam.
But, she lamented that former Minister Dharmana and some other YCP leaders were angry that they went to the girl’s house and did politics. She wondered that even though the victim’s family complained that there was no rape, the YCP leaders are doing dirty politics. Moreover, she said the accused was arrested within 24 hours.
The Minister warned that strict action will be taken if YCP leaders post false posts about women on social media. She expressed concern that YCP leaders are playing with the lives of girls in the process of mudslinging the government. Home Minister Anitha has warned that if posts about women are made on Twitter and social media without knowing the truth, immediate arrests will be made.
Meanwhile, it is known that the attack on a BSc student in Srikakulam has caused a huge stir. A young woman from Vizianagaram district was attacked by some people staying in the Srikakulam government BC hostel. The young woman, who is doing an internship, is staying in the hostel instead of going to college.
In this context, fellow students found the student who had gone out for books lying unconscious near the hostel at night and informed the hostel warden. The student was immediately taken to the hospital as there were injuries on her body. Moreover, the hospital superintendent said that there was no evidence that the student had been raped.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Ministers Anitha and Atchannaidu have also inquired about the attack on the student. The Collector and SP have been ordered to take strict action against those responsible.
