Former Rajyasabha MP and YSR Congress party leader Vijay Sai Reddy, who recently announced retirement from politics and resigned from his post and party membership without giving any valid reasons, continues to grab the attention of media with his political maneuvering. Initially, it was speculated that he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party as he wields strong influence in Delhi. However, he dismissed the reports.
The latest rumour in Andhra Pradesh political circles is that Vijay Sai Reddy recently held a secret meeting with YS Jagan’s sister and Congress chief YS Sharmila at her Hyderabad residence. It is believed that he met Sharmila three days ago and had a prolonged discussion with her for about three hours during which he spoke about several political issues with her.
Though Vijay Sai Reddy maintains a very close relationship with YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s family, he criticised YS Sharmila very badly in the past due to his association with YS Jagan. He openly found fault with Sharmila’s allegations on YS Jagan and also alleged that she was acting at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu.
Sharmila also slammed Vijay Sai Reddy many a time during her political meetings and media interactions. After he announced his resignation last week, Sharmila came down heavily on him and demanded him to reveal the truth behind YS Vivekanand Reddy’s murder. She said Vijay Sai Reddy came out of YSRCP because Jagan lost the trust of his leaders and supporters.
Against this backdrop, the alleged secret meeting between Sharmila and Vijay Sai Reddy is bound to create ripples in political circles. Though Jagan returned to Bengaluru from his foreign trip, Sai Reddy didn’t met him and simply sent his resignation letter after his announcement on social media platform.
