Mumbai police have utilized facial recognition technology to identify the suspect in the recent attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The technology was applied to analyze CCTV footage from the actor’s residence, leading to the identification of Mohammad Shariful Islam as the assailant.
The attack took place early on the 16th of this month when the suspect entered Khan’s residence. During the investigation, authorities collected nearly 19 fingerprints from the crime scene, but none matched the suspect’s fingerprints.
Police have confirmed that Islam illegally entered India from Bangladesh with the intent to commit theft. Additionally, the police have seized the clothes Saif Ali Khan was wearing during the attack as part of their investigation.
