A growing demand for Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, Electronics, Human Resources Development, and RTGS, Nara Lokesh, to be appointed as Deputy Chief Minister has gained traction among Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and cadres. Senior leaders, including TDP Politburo member Srinivasa Reddy and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, have openly supported this call, emphasizing Lokesh’s significant contributions to the party.
“After enduring numerous challenges and working tirelessly for the party, there is no reason why Nara Lokesh should not be appointed Deputy Chief Minister,” they asserted.
Joining this demand, former Pithapuram MLA and TDP constituency in-charge SVSN Varma stated that Lokesh deserves the position, citing his achievement in raising the party’s membership to over one crore and effectively leading the “Yuvagalam” initiative to counter criticisms against the party.
Varma urged media outlets and social media platforms to respect the sentiments of TDP cadres, who, he said, see Lokesh as a symbol of dedication and leadership. “Just as other parties hail their leaders, TDP workers also have the right to voice their aspirations. Lokesh has demonstrated his commitment and integrity, which makes him the ideal choice for Deputy Chief Minister,” Varma noted.
He also stressed the importance of valuing the morale of party workers. “Lokesh is the backbone of the party today. Acknowledging his efforts by elevating him to the Deputy CM role will inspire confidence among the TDP rank and file,” Varma said.
However, he clarified that any decision taken by TDP Chief Chandrababu would be respected and upheld by all party members, reaffirming the cadre’s trust in the leadership.
