Music composer SS Thaman surprised everyone with his thought-provoking speech during the success meet of Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj held in Hyderabad last night. Thaman spoke his heart out about social media negativity and trolling at Telugu cinema. He pointed out how the bad culture of unbridled hate mongering on social media platforms has been killing our cinema.
Thaman emphasised the importance of success in everyone’s life and how difficult it has become to achieve it amid negative trolls and tags. He expressed deep concern for producers who put in great efforts in all aspects to make a film and bag success. He appealed to all fans, actors and technicians to treat producer as a god. He also highlighted how Telugu cinema reached dizzy heights after Covid and how people across the globe are embracing our films and proud to be a part of it.
Thaman painfully regretted that one cannot enjoy success due to online negativity and trolls. He requested everyone not to kill cinema and stop defaming it and called for a collective responsibility to end this menace.
Thaman’s emotional outburst received applause from all quarters because he addressed a pertinent issue which has been grappling Telugu cinema and impacting the revenues. Recently, Ram Charan’s Game Changer also fell prey to such negative and targeted campaign despite having a decent story and screenplay.
Responding on Thaman’s appeal, Megastar Chiranjeevi came up with a heartfelt note through X. He tagged Thaman and shared his opinion on these comments. Chiru said he was overly surprised with Thaman’s vehement expression of a burning issue and asked everyone to introspect about the impact of their words on individuals from different fields before expressing them on various social media platforms.
He said ” Words can inspire. And Words can destroy. Choose what you wish to do”. Chiru called for positivity as it will drive our lives in a positive path. He labelled Thaman’s words as thoughtful.
