In a landmark deal, the government of Andhra Pradesh has concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with People Tech Enterprises Pvt Ltd to initiate the Orvakal Mobility Valley, a 1,200-acre electric vehicle (EV) park in the Kurnool district. Expected to provide first-class infrastructure supporting the EV manufacturing sector and industries related to them, the investment is pegged at ₹1,800 crore.
Orvakal Mobility Valley is going to be the hub in electric vehicle manufacturing, which anticipates an additional investment of $1.5 billion (around ₹13,000 crore). Such a huge investment is expected to provide around 25,000 direct opportunities to the local population. Under this proposed project, the anchor unit of the park would be People Tech Enterprises, which will head this effort by establishing an electric two-wheeler manufacturing unit and would contribute ₹300 crore to the said initiative.
The EV park will be equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including research and development centers, vehicle testing tracks, plug-and-play industrial spaces, and ready-to-use plots for various industries. Beyond industrial growth, the project will focus on creating a sustainable, inclusive environment with the addition of key social infrastructure such as residential housing, healthcare centers, educational institutions, and retail complexes.
TG Vishwa Prasad, CEO of People Tech Group, and Saikanth Varma, CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, signed the MoU in the presence of state IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Industries Minister TG Bharath.
Nara Lokesh stressed that this project fits with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of making Andhra Pradesh the premier destination for new-age investments. He further stated, “The Orvakal Mobility Valley is a game-changing initiative that will not only drive the growth of the electric vehicle industry but also make Andhra Pradesh an important state in India’s industrial future.
This transformative project would be expected to fuel economic growth, create thousands of job opportunities, and transform Andhra Pradesh into a key hub for India’s green mobility revolution.
