K.T. Rama Rao’s Assertive Tweet Before Appearing For ED Questioning

K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the BRS Working President and former minister, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today as part of the investigation into the Hyderabad Formula E car race case. KTR arrived directly from his Gandipet farmhouse, and the questioning began at 11:00 AM. The investigation centers around allegations of violations related to the transfer of funds to a foreign organization without prior approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Originally scheduled for January 7, KTR’s appearance was postponed at his request. The ED has already questioned senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar and former HMDA Chief Engineer B.L.N. Reddy in connection with the case.

KTR took to social media before appearing in court and rejected the charges vehemently. He said it was an unmistakable political conspiracy case and there was no misuse of funds as such. He emphasized that hosting the Formula E race was something he took great pride in achieving for Hyderabad during his tenure and added, “It brought that kind of global recognition from international racers and a self-same set of leaders in the e-mobility sector to Hyderabad.”.

KTR clarified that the ₹46 crore transferred to Formula E Operations (FEO) was through bank-to-bank transactions, all of which are transparently recorded. He raised questions about corruption and money laundering allegations, insisting there were no irregularities.

As the investigation continues, KTR remains determined to clear his name and uphold the positive impact of the Formula E race on Hyderabad’s international reputation.
