The police prevented BRS activists from holding a grand dharna in Bhuvanagiri on Sunday protesting against Congress goons’ attack on BRS office in the town on Saturday. Barricades have been set up at Ambedkar Square in Bhuvanagiri town. Police have been deployed in large numbers.
Several BRS leaders have been house-arrested. Several leaders have been shifted to their respective police stations. In the wake of these developments, a tense atmosphere has prevailed in Bhuvanagiri. Former MLAs Paylla Sekhar Reddy, Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, senior leaders Bhullu Bhikshamaya Goud and Kyama Mallesh were placed under house arrest.
The police have arrested BRS party leaders from all mandals in Yadadri district and shifted them to the police station to disrupt the dharna program organized in the district center to protest the attacks by Congress leaders on the district party office. The BRS party leaders have alleged that the police are behaving inappropriately towards them as if arresting rowdies and terrorists.
Municipal Chairman Shankaraiah has been placed under house arrest in Aleru. Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao strongly condemns the arrests and house arrest of BRS party leaders and activists, including the combined Nalgonda district. He criticized that it is undemocratic to use police force to suppress the opposition.
On Saturday, former MLA Paylla Sekhar Reddy and the party’s district president Kancharla Ramakrishna Reddy held a press conference at the BRS district office in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and criticized the failures of the Congress government and its failure to implement election promises.
Youth Congress leaders became angry for criticizing their government and camped at the ITI College nearby. After the press meet was over and all the BRS leaders left the office, the Youth Congress leaders entered the stage.
They stormed into the BRS office, making inappropriate comments about KTR. As planned, they created havoc in the office broke chairs and smashed mirrors. Not stopping there, they broke KCR and KTR’s portraits. They tore flexi films. They went into the inner room and smashed the TV.
