Expressing anger that BJP leaders even did not apologize for insulting Dr BR Ambedkar, APCC President YS Sharmila demanded that the BJP should apologize immediately and that Amit Shah should resign from his post. She participated at the round table meeting called “Jai Bapuji, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan”, organized by the Congress Party at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada.
She accused the BJP of keeping investigative agencies under its control. She also accused the BJP of conspiring to tarnish the image of the country and attacks on churches and mosques have become a habit for the BJP. She deplored that the BJP is looking down on Dalits and insulted the architect of the Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar.
YS Sharmila commented that a resolution should be sent to the President demanding that Amit Shah apologize on this. On the other hand and accused that the BJP was obstructing the caste census. She criticized that reservations should be given and that they are saying no to the census. YS Sharmila alleged that BJP is enslaving people in the state as well.
“The BJP is building temples and worshipping the person who killed Gandhi. It is not apologizing for insulting Ambedkar. Amit Shah should apologize. Let’s send a resolution to the President demanding that Amit Shah apologize. BJP is being enslaved in the state too,” she added.
CPI State Secretary K. Ramakrishna lamented that the entire nation was shocked with the insulting comments by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Parliament against Ambedkar. He said that a nationwide struggle should be waged on this until the Home Minister resigns.
He recalled that Mahatma Gandhi was a person who did not bow to anyone until his death. He advised people to remember that CM Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are in those positions because of the Constitution. He questioned why no one speaks out if the framers of the Constitution are insulted.
Ramakrishna questioned whether it was necessary for those who did not at least respond to this issue to continue in those positions? CPM party state executive member CH. Babu Rao and other leaders participated in this meeting.
