Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, widely lauded for his humanitarian efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, has clarified his stance on joining politics, dismissing ongoing speculations. The actor made his remarks during an interview promoting his latest film.
Sood revealed that following his extensive relief work during the pandemic, he received offers to assume positions such as Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Rajya Sabha member. However, he declined these opportunities, citing his preference to remain independent.
“I value my freedom and do not wish to lose it by entering politics. People usually join politics for money or power, but I have no interest in either,” Sood stated. He further added that his commitment to serving the public does not require a political platform.
The actor emphasized that his social service efforts will continue unabated, reaffirming his dedication to helping those in need without any political affiliation.
