A landmark judicial ruling saw relief coming the way of the Telangana High Court quashing the notices of the Bhupalpally court issued against the BRS leaders K. Chandrashekar Rao and K. Harish Rao for allegations of corruption and defective construction against the Medigadda Barrage which forms the core of the Kaleshwaram project.
The Bhupalpally Court had initially issued the notices after a petition filed by Rajalingam, which sought an inquiry into the damage caused to the Medigadda Barrage. The court had summoned KCR, Harish Rao, and several irrigation officials to appear in court on September 5.
In response, the BRS leadership moved the Telangana High Court, seeking to annul the notices. After hearing the petition on Tuesday, the High Court suspended the lower court’s notices, offering relief to KCR and Harish Rao. The case has now been deferred to January 7, with the court also directing that notices be issued to the petitioner.
This ruling is seen as a major win for the BRS leadership, providing them with respite, especially as political pressure from the Congress government mounts on opposition figures in the state.
