Police have intensified search operations against former YCP Minister Perni Nani family members in the PDS ration theft case, as they are absconding. While both Perni Nani and his son Kittu have not responded to the police notices, they have issued Lookout notices on Perni Nani’s wife Jaya Sudha. Police teams are searching for her.
She has been absconding for the last 10 days. The police issued notices on Sunday seeking her cooperation in the investigation of the case. However, since no one was at home, notices were pasted at the house. Police are also searching for Jaya Sudha’s personal secretary Manasa Teja, who is also an accused in this case.
It is reported that Manasa’s family members have been brought to the police station and are being interrogated. In this context, it was revealed in the investigation of the authorities that ration rice worth Rs 1 crore was stolen in the Krishna district port. In this matter also Perni Nani is said to have landed in trouble.
A case was also registered against Perni Nani’s wife Jaya Sudha and her personal secretary Manasa Teja for embezzling rice. During the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, a godown was built in the name of Nani’s wife and rented out to the Civil Supplies Department.
In that process, the ration rice that was supposed to be given to the poor went astray. With this, serious allegations are being made that Perni Nani misused his power and diverted the ration rice. The police have registered a case as the godowns are in the name of Nani’s wife Jaya Sudha.
Perni Nani has filed petitions for anticipatory bail in the Machilipatnam District Court and the AP High Court. Perni Nani and his wife are said to be hiding waiting for the court’s decision.
Despite forming four teams and searching for them, the Krishna police’s failure to trace them seems to be glaring. There are allegations that some officials and TDP leaders are cooperating with Perni Nani. However, the AP government has taken this case seriously.
District SP Gangadhar said that a thorough investigation is underway and again notice will be given to Perni Nani. He said that the records along with the CPU have been seized and sent to the FSL. He clarified that no one needs to have any doubts about the investigation of the case.
