ED’s Entry In Formula-E case In Jet Speed, But silent on BRS complaints Against Revanth Reddy

There is widespread astonishment over the ED’s entry into the field within 24 hours of the ACB registering a case in the Formula-E race case. Even experts are expressing surprise at the fact that even though no one complained, they themselves took it upon themselves suo moto to ask the ACB officials, collect details and register a case.

Questions are being raised as to why the ED officials remain silent on several complaints of scams and corruption by BRS leaders against the Revanth Reddy government?  The unprecedented enthusiasm shown by ED in this case only reflects alleged political bondage of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with BJP’s top leadership.

The ED’s dual play is particularly reflected in the case of Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. On September 27 and 28 this year, ED officials conducted searches at Minister Ponguleti’s residence and offices in Hyderabad. Allegations were made that a large amount of cash was found in these searches, which took place in Jubilee Hills and Himayat Sagar.

The suspicions were further strengthened when the officials took away three cash counting machines. Usually, ED officials release an official statement within a day or two wherever they conduct searches. So far, even after nearly three months, not a single statement has been released.

Moreover, even though there are allegations that CPUs, hard disks and other key documents were moved before the ED raids, the ED has not paid attention to that. The entire ED operation was kept secret.

The ED, which registered the case registered against KTR suo moto, is questioning why it is not initiating its own investigation into other allegations against the state government. BRS has alleged that there was a scam of Rs. 1100 crore in the Civil Supplies Department.

It has been alleged that there was a scam of Rs 750 crore in global tenders to clear 35 lakh tonnes of paddy and another Rs 300 crore in the form of rice purchases from millers. KTR has repeatedly demanded for ED probe into this money laundering. However, the ED has not registered a case suo moto.

KTR directly complained to the union minister along with evidence that there was a scam in the Amrut scheme tender works and that works worth Rs 1137 crore were awarded to an unqualified company. He demanded the central government to refer the same for ED investigation. However, surprisingly both the Central government and also the ED remain silent. Even BJP leaders in the state are not questioning misuse of central funds by Revanth Reddy’s government.
