The Hyderabad police would like to move the apex court against the interim relief of bail granted to actor Allu Arjun related to the stampede case at Sandhya Theatre. They feel that the issuance of interim bail during pendency of the quashing petitions was not justified by any means. Sources say it was against the legal principle to grant some such relief when the whole issue was still under consideration.
The police fear that if this decision goes unchallenged, it could set a precedent, potentially complicating similar cases in the future. To prevent this, they have resolved to file a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to revoke the actor’s interim bail. Although they could also approach the Hyderabad High Court Division Bench, the team reportedly favors taking the matter directly to the apex court for a faster resolution.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun’s legal counsel has blamed the police for mismanagement during the stampede. They argue that the chaos was a result of law enforcement’s inability to handle the crowd effectively. However, the police plan to counter these claims by presenting evidence to show that Allu Arjun ignored their instructions, leading to the unfortunate incident.
Officials have also stated that both Allu Arjun and the theater management share responsibility for the stampede. They allege that Allu Arjun’s associates displaced legitimate ticket holders during the event, creating unrest among the crowd. Additionally, the actor’s personal security team has been accused of worsening the situation instead of diffusing it.
If the petition regarding canceling the bail of Allu Arjun reaches the Supreme Court, the case would just explode further with controversy surrounding the case, drawing much publicity attention.
This incident itself remained a very sensitive affair despite garnering severe public outcry against the crowd management.
At such a stage, on either side preparing for court confrontation, this case may prove to be headline-grabber and watch-case closely by everybody in coming days.
