Growing speculations are rife in the political scenario of Andhra Pradesh, as several high-ranking leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) are believed to be looking to exit the party, with one of the first names to be doing so being former minister Jogi Ramesh in CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government. The recent speculations are that he may leave YSRCP and even this rumor has gained more momentum as he appeared at a rally along with opposition leaders, and that makes many people believe that he might be shifting to the opposition alliance.
Jogi Ramesh was one of the prominent leaders in the YSRCP government. He was highly critical of several leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan. The rest of his tenure was marred with legal issues, including cases about the attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s residence. Jogi cooperated in the investigations. With his son being involved with the AgriGold land case and distant from main party activities, these incidents have been causing speculation for some time that Jogi Ramesh is planning to exit the YSRCP.
The speculation gained further momentum when Jogi Ramesh was spotted at a recent event in Nuziveedu, where he participated in the unveiling of the statue of Gouthu Lachanna, along with TDP leaders. Although Jogi Ramesh has not publicly confirmed or denied rumors of a political shift, his participation in the rally has raised expectations that he may soon join the opposition.
Jogi Ramesh’s supporters argue that his attendance at the statue unveiling was purely a non-political gesture, but TDP leaders have pointed out that given his past comments on their party leaders, his entry into their fold may not be easy. The political tension surrounding Jogi Ramesh’s potential exit from YSRCP remains high, and clarity on his next move can only come once he addresses the growing rumors.
