In a breaking update, Tollywood actor and ‘Pushpa’ hero Allu Arjun has been arrested by Hyderabad police just a while ago in connection with the alleged stampede incident which resulted in the death of a woman on the release day of his latest release Pushpa 2 at Sandhya theatre in the city. He was taken into custody by Chikkadapally police at his residence in the presence of his family members.
Going into the details, a case was booked last week on Allu Arjun after a woman named Revathi succumbed to injuries and died due to asphyxiation on the wee hours of December 5th. It was alleged that Allu Arjun attended the special premiere of Pushpa 2 without any prior notice to the local police or theatre management. Large number of people gathered at the theater and lack of any security measures led to huge stampede like situation. Revanthi and her two children were injured in the stampede. While she was declared dead on spot, the children were admitted into the hospital
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Central Zone, Hyderabad Police, Akshansh Yadav stated that a case had been filed under BNS section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt) at Chikkadpally police station based on the complaint of the family members of the deceased.
Allu Arjun announced 25 lakhs solatium to the bereaved family and expressed deep condolences for the unfortunate incident. However, he faced huge backlash from the public for not informing the police about his arrival which led to the stampede.
