YSRCP Leader Dwarampudi’s Explosive Remarks on PDS Rice Export Controversy

Alleged illegal transportation of ration rice from Kakinada Port has stirred up major political controversy in Andhra Pradesh. Former MLA of the YSR Congress Party, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy has spoken to this alleged issue while totally dismissing involvement of his family members, pointing his fingers towards some political leaders and others like Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and Finance Minister Pyyavula Keshav.

Dwarampudi Responds to Allegations
Breaking his silence on the issue, Dwarampudi dismissed accusations linking his family to the smuggling of ration rice. He emphasized that since the YSRCP assumed power, rice exports from Kakinada Port have seen a significant rise, creating economic benefits for truck operators and the local community. Acknowledging that his brother is engaged in rice exports, he clarified that their business operates within legal frameworks and maintains full transparency.

Targeting Political Figures
Dwarampudi turned the limelight on Finance Minister Pyyavula Keshav by accusing him that his relatives are dominating the rice export business in the region. He further added that a few MLAs are being paid money by the rice supplying persons and this could be a reason why Pawan Kalyan has taken so much interest in the issue. Dwarampudi demanded an SIT to probe the whole incident and said he is ready to cooperate with the inquiry fully.

Questions Over Smuggling Control
Criticizing the government’s handling of the situation, Dwarampudi questioned why authorities have failed to address ration rice smuggling over the past six months. He claimed that small-scale operators, not legitimate exporters, are primarily responsible for the illegal activities. Urging officials to focus on resolving the root causes of the problem, he requested them to avoid baseless allegations that tarnish reputations.

Defending Family Legacy
Dwarampudi highlighted his family’s long-standing reputation in the rice business, asserting that their operations have always adhered to strict regulations. He expressed disappointment over how the controversy has disrupted the rice export industry, which played a crucial role in supplying food to countries facing shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Call for Justice
In his concluding remarks, Dwarampudi reiterated the importance of a fair investigation to identify the true culprits behind the illegal smuggling. He urged authorities to protect the interests of genuine businesses while ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

This controversy continues to unfold, drawing attention to the challenges surrounding rice exports and the political ramifications of the allegations.
